The Polymer Composite Technology Difference
Beginning in 1998 CMS began engineering machine tools that employ polymer composite technology. This advanced material is now used in all new CMS machines.
Polymer concrete has traditionally been found in machine tools that cost significantly more. It is a material produced by mixing a variety of mineral fillers together with a polymer resin-binding agent. When combined through a process of mixing, molding and curing, an extremely powerful cross-linked bond is formed. The end result is the ideal structure for a machine tool base. This superior material is used by only a handful of advanced machine tool builders -- CMS is proud to be one of them.
